looking to upgrade my skimmer for my 120g, can these be run in sump or external?

They can be run both ways.

I'm heading out to BashSea tonight and will have specs on their standard skimmers (beckett and needlewheel models) and hopefully their refugium line, calcium reactors, and media reactors. They will build anything custom too, so if you need something specific, we can have them make it for you.

I got some info last night for everyone -

We'll start with the BashSea Beckett Skimmers. There are 4 standard models:

The model 6-24 has a 6" diameter chamber and is 24" tall. It can be driven by a Mag 12 or a Mag 18. Price is $329.00

The model 6-30 has a 6" diameter chamber and is 30" tall. It can be driven by a Mag 18. Price is $369.00

The model 8-24 has a 8" diameter chamber and is 24" tall. It can be driven by a Mag 12 or a Mag 18. Price is $419.00

The model 8-30 has a 8" diameter chamber and is 30" tall. It can be driven by a Mag 18. Price is $479.00

These are high volume skimmers that can skim very large or heavily loaded systems. Mag Drives are sold seperately.


Next are the needlewheel skimmers. These are a more cost effective option for those not needing a beckett driven skimmer.

Needlewheel skimmers come standard in the following sizes:

6" Diameter Chamber 18" tall - $199.00
6" Diameter Chamber 24" tall - $249.00
8" Diameter Chamber 18" tall - $299.00
8" Diameter Chamber 24" tall - $349.00


BashSea is also building media reactors for carbon and other chemical media. Prices are as follows:

4" Diameter Chamber 12" tall - $69.00
4" Diameter Chamber 18" tall - $89.00
6" Diameter Chamber 12" tall - $109.00
6" Diameter Chamber 18" tall - $149.00

I will have pics of several of these up soon. Also prices on refugiums, bio-reactors, and calcium reactors. Our fish system is run by a custom built BashSea Skimmer and Bio-Reactor. Quick revision. The Media reactors are for carbon, GFO, etc. For biogical filtration there are the Bio Reactors/Moving Beds. Pricing on those to follow

The needle wheel skimmers, do the prices include a pump? If so what is it? If not what is suggested for the given sizes?
I need a new skimmer for the growing frag tank, I would love to support a Michigan based company but honestly the prices seem a bit high compared to others on the market.
