Since I cant seem to find a search feature on this forum, I figure I#ed_op#br#ed_cl#would flat out ask :) But I have this red algea forming instead of the#ed_op#br#ed_cl#normal green. I kinda like it. Makes the tank look nicer imo ^_^#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#Does this mean anything though?#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

is it a fuzzy type of algae or a hard algae like coraline?

I guess its fuzzy. Kind of like a thin coating along the coral and gravel.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#The green algae on the live rock is turining maroon. The blend of colors are nice, but it does get a bit crazy on the glass.#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#I was reading some of the posts. I think I might buy a lawnmower blenny#ed_op#br#ed_cl#(i couldnt believe that was the name of the fish. I thought someone#ed_op#br#ed_cl#nicknamed it!)#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#Can a lawnmower blenny live peacefully with a cleaner and a fire shrimp?#ed_op#br#ed_cl#I will be getting rid of my damsels soon for a REAL fish too :)#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Oh yeah, does it matter which type of blenny I get? And if I do get
one, what can I feed it just in case the algae runs out? I always like
to have a backup for everything.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

sounds like cyanobacteria to me, do a search for that and compare pictures.

the blenny should be fine with the shrimp, he may have trouble with the damsels though, they'll likely attack any new fish coming into the tank.

yeah, actually, I need to go the the LFS and pick up more salt for water changes. So I might just grab the damsels and try to pull off a trade. Damsels are $4 there and considering these *******s grew big, I can at least try to get $2 for them and ge tthe price knocked down on the LMB.

BTW, I started a new thread specifically about the LMB since I got side tracked ;p

Hitokiri, where you able to locate the search function? It's located where all the rest of the controls you'll need on the pull out Nav bar on the left hand side. Stashing everything over there is supposed to make it easier to find :(

<------ Over there.

lol, yeah, i mentioned that in an edit on my first post ;p I'm used to
see it on the top of the forums and I totally forgot about the nav
feature until I accidently put my mouse over it ;p#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

I've been doing research on what I might have. The red algae doesnt
look like "slime" Its not on the glass either. greenish brown type
algae is on the glass. When I think of slime, I think of something like
Slimer from the Ghost Busters. I came across this link #ed_op#br#ed_cl#

I dont think I have cyanobacteria. I *think* I have a diatom bloom.
It's funny, cause before I added a bunch of new live rocks, I had green
algae and hair algae. Now it looks like it's getting taken over
somewhat.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

Ah well, lets hope the LMB eats pellets!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
