Captive Reefs has teamed up with Sir Patrick, Corvette reefer and Paulo to help out with this year's 3rd annual Ann Arbor area frag swap. Although last year the Ann Arbor swap was held in March, this year we are moving it back to the fall. We've also relocated it from Ann Arbor to a slightly larger facility, just outside of Ann Arbor, in Belleville to accommodate the growing interest in the Ann Arbor swap. With the growing numbers at Captive reefs and the AnnArbor frag swap, we have decided to collaborate our efforts to make an even BIGGER and BETTER Captive Reefs swap this year! We look forward to seeing all the folks that previously attended the Ann Arbor events as well as new swappers from all levels of the hobby. With the teaming up of a great site and a great ongoing yearly event- This swap will surely be one not to miss!!!

General Admission:
$2 per person with CR membership card (free-see post #2 on first page (http://www.captivereefs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10150))
$5 per person general admission

Vendor Table Price:
$25 per full table
$15 per half table

Setup restrictions:
Max water volume per table: 30 gallons (or 15 gallons per half table)
Maximum power per table: 300 watts max. (e.g.,100 watt heater, 200 watts lighting)
Make sure your equipment is in good working order and not a safety hazard.
Bring your own extension cords. All cords must be clear of walkways or securely taped to avoid tripping.

Cash Bar will be available, including concessions/food.

We are also planning to put together some sort of raffle event as well. Vendors are encouraged to donate an item to the raffle. Proceeds go to help get the A2 Reefers club started. :)

I have a few small tanks. You are welcome to use them, I live like 5 minutes from there. I have a 10, 15 or two, and a 29 I think it is. Anyone is welcome to use them. have 2 55's also. Various airpumps and small powerheads also, heaters, hob's. I can drop a box off at swap. Just make sure I get things back lol.

Sorry I hadn't responded. Your PM served as a reminder I needed to get the logistics figured out. So I have been busy working to get CR equipped to deal with table reservations and membership cards.

I will have a payment link set up for table reservation tomorrow.

Regarding CR membership cards...I should also have those ready for you guys to print out starting tomorrow as well.

One side note...I need to get down to actually measure and look at the hall to figure out for sure how many tables we can fit. I have limited the pre-sale tables right now to 20 fulls and 20 halves. Hopefully by the end of the week, I will be able to get a better idea of the layout.

I can try to keep you updated as they sell.

Another thing about this swap, I'm not counting frags. If you don't want a table you don't have to have one. But with that said, it is very hard to meet up with people at a crowded swap. Missing one person you have a trade with, would likely pay for a table. Tables help people find you because you have a "spot".

I can't stress enough how important it is to get your table reserved and paid for (unless we have worked something out). This hall does not come with enough long tables.

We need to rent tables...I need to give a final table count several days in advance. If you aren't on the reservation list when that happens, you will likely end up with a round table.

That shoe fits on the other foot as well. You don't have to look very hard to find a postage stamp size frag for a small tank.....large corals, of quality on the other hand, are a rarer beast. So the "huge tank" peeps are part of everyone as well.

No I haven't. I'm sure they are there though. I'm sure the place has to meet electrical code. I'll try to remember to ask that when I talk to them next time.

All vendors should bring a powerstrip and extension cords (in good condition) to be sure we have enough.

If anyone wants to store water close to the swap, I'm like 10 minutes away and you can drop it off the day before and plop a heater in it and have it ready the next day. I do plan on hunting in the AM, but can make sure I'm home by 1030-11, earlier if need be.

If the raffle is held mid-way, I'll be able to participate (buy tickets :)) otherwise I'll have to pass. I would think many that are most interested would be arriving earlier rather than later and might not be able to stay till the very end.

I'm leaving the raffle up to Chris...but it is a catch 22...it takes awhile for everyone to settle down and buy the raffle tickets. If you do the raffle too early there are issues there.

In my mind, I was figuring starting raffle at 3:30. But again...it is totally up to the A2 Reef Club to determine the schedule. I'm sure he will weigh in.

We were trying to decide where to go for lunch before the swap - I found what looks to be an interesting Cajun restaurant in Belleville called the Bayou Grill (http://www.bayougrill.net/) (hoping for good red beans, rice and Andouille and ice cold Ibita.)

They are purported to have a great Sunday brunch. They normally start serving at 12:00 on Sundays but in speaking with the owner (Brian), they agreed to get things started a bit early for us "Reefers."

Cindi and I are planning on being there around 11:30 - Let me know if anyone is interested in joining us, and I'll grab a big table.
