thanks! yeah everyone that sees it in person is like wow! it looks amazing!, then they always ask how big the tank is 3 times because it is so stocked with stuff it actually looks bigger than a 29g because there is so much to look at lol. i am lacking some yellow colors but once the rastas grow out more itll be nice.

side note:

when i get time in the next few days i will try to get close ups of the fish and inverts and some nice coral pieces. this is just a start =)

Nice corals in there! Have you ever had a problem with the bta and the Koralia? I've always wanted one and been worried that it would get sucked in since you can't really screen it off.

i am one of the few that are lucky and when i set the RBTA and the GBTA where they are they havent even moved an inch yet! (knock on wood lol) and the koralia is up the glass a bit and on the opposite side so it would have to do some climbing to reach it. i have heard stories about it though but so far so good for me! and thanks!

well... solved the mystery of my yellow watchman... was inspecting behind the tank today and looked at the wood trim on the floor n seen an odd area where it looked wierd, he was on top of the trim dried up, he must of jumped out and the water stuck him to it.

Those get real big right? :) my space is limited-lol-sure is purddy!

yes they do! mine is about 5-6" right now, it might get to large for my 29g tank and if so then i might just frag it into two because she is a healthy beauty and always has her tips bulbed so i couldn't see myself selling her completely or trading her for another one that is smaller. i bought her at 2" for $30 i think so it was a great deal! if you get one miz just get it small enough so it can grow over the course of a year or two, mine is only about 6 months old and has grown about 3-4"

Thanks! a lot has changed since then, i plan on adding a new updated picture of the tank within this week sometime, ive traded a lot out and trying to go more sps now. i have since gotten a new skimmer as well and i am ordering new bulbs soon so i want to set the camera up, take a picture of the before and after effects on brightness of having new bulbs.

Thanks chris!

decided i will add a 6 month update back to back pictures for easy growth comparison. the clear good growth you can see came from the green slimer and pink birds nest. some a lot slower than others but i am still working on trying to get everything perfect in this smaller tank. notice in the top picture the green slimer is actually browned out, it is still located to the right of the birdsnest

here is the old 12g nano i had:
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/boonesville/Picture029.jpg

the same rock from the photo above is the one with the zoo garden all over it now and it still has the same birds nest on top of it and the green slimer on the lower right.

Well i removed the entire left side of the tank (rock with all the kenya trees on it) and moved in all my my acans from my 2.5g acan lord tank and here is how it looks:

http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/boonesville/2011-04-23142658.jpg

I am super happy with how it turned out! it was just done this morning so most are hardly inflated so i will take a better picture later.

here is another picture of just the acans section (both taken on my camera phone)

sweet tank i love that orange anemone

Thanks!

I decided to switch my bulbs back instead of having this:

Blue +
Purple +
purple +
Blue +

I switched it to:
Blue +
Purple +
Aquablue special
Blue +

It was not much of a change visually but i think my growth will be better with this combo. I decided to put the aquablue special back 1 more slot due to it being directly over the majority of my sps to help with their growth.

I will get new pictures next week sometime after the WORC swap this weekend because i will have a good amount of frags cleared out at that point and the anemone holding bin out of the tank, i am going to try to put the higher end coral i have on my frag rack in this tank into my frag tank (last time they did not like the LEDS well or the water wasn't to their liking so hoping it is different this time) to help clear up the tank a bit and actually make it look like a tank.

Sir Patrick

Didnt like the 2 purple bulbs, huh?

MizTanks
04-26-2011, 11:15 PM
I'm happy you didn't go all pinky-your bulb combo is exactly what I'm using-totally love the look.

jolson10450
04-27-2011, 08:28 AM
i did like the purple bulbs actually it is just i figured with the increased number of sps in my tank it would be better growth wise to throw in the higher par aquablue.

as far as the purple stuff it is actually blue xenia anthelia, the stuff grows like a weed for about a month then it will all die to about the size of a dime then it'll all explode back into growth of that size. my clowns have really taken a liking to it and hardly ever use the anemone anymore because they love to swim through this stuff so i decided to keep it. i will try to get some closer shots next week of each section of my tank.

picked up a few new things and decided to test out my evo 3d and its macro skills, i think if my glass was cleaner it would help lol!

picked this guy up from great lakes aquariums when i went to pick up my frag tank, it is an orange with green mouth tube anemone, something that i cant see in person showed up in the picture though, check out the strange white looking dots almost like a strip light on the top of each tentacle.... i wonder what that is?? i just got done feeding it so the green mouth was closed up:
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/boonesville/IMAG0064.jpg

next i am not sure what they guys were but i traded a few things into Fish Doctors in Canton and picked up this frag, has roughly 40 polyps on it:
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/boonesville/IMAG0063.jpg

also here is one of my super skittles acan i got from Mr. Coral a while back, it was 2 polyps when i recieved it in mid january and now has 10 polyps including the babies on it! since moving to the 29g it has colored up nicely especially on the sides where it is shaded from direct sunlight:
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/boonesville/IMAG0062.jpg

last is my orange acan i got from reef peddlar that also is starting to color up with some nice green colors in it, it is fully under direct light but on the sand bed:
http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/boonesville/IMAG0061.jpg

the color changes could also be due to me now dosing 2 part.
