i am looking into an led retro for my 24g aquapod. i want to run 24leds on either 2 meanwell drivers or 4 buckpucks. but i cant decide which is better and easier. from what i can see these are the pros and cons

meanwell

pro

run up to 13 leds
fairly inexpensive
wall current compatible

cons
dimming cont not provided
and somewhat confusing at the moment

buckpucks

pros

cheap

cons
have to have ps (two if wanting dusk dawn)
need 4 to run the 24 leds

Hmmmm - I just went through the same dilemma while planning for a build for a 10G nano. I chose to go with the buckpucks. I chose to use external potentiometers - thinking that it would be easier to manage dimming. I bought only one power supply, and will add a couple of switches to turn off one color or the other. I couldn't seem to locate pots with switches that seemed appropriate.

The last of the components arrived yesterday, now I have to start the build.
