I had at one time about 5 in my tank. 3 large and 2 small. As of late I only see 2 large. My question is: will dead snails under the sand cause an algae bloom? Red slim or diatoms? Why would the red slim show up on the sand bed and zoas only?
My water parameters are all good.

anything dead like that could help contribute to an algae bloom in a small volume of water. you're probably seeing it between some zoa's and on the sand because you've got lower flow in those regions.

Hmmm never thought of it being a flow issue. I've got a hydro flow with an mj600. Seems like everything gets blown around pretty good. Will have ro check out the new Korallias at the LFS. I'm just worried about to much flow in such a small tank.

get a koralia nano or see if you can mod a mj1200 into the stock pump with the hydor flo and just use that for all of the flow.

A 1200 will not fit in the chamber. I tried.

I have also had the red slime seem to like growing on my polyps and not other places....weird huh? Dont know why it seems to happen like that.

I get slime just about anytime I have some die off in my tank, that isnt taken care of immediatly.
