5th Annual MMMC Frag Swap - Sunday January 30, 2011 (Lansing, MI)

The Mid-Michigan Marine Club is having its 5th Annual Frag Swap and Raffle on Sunday, January 30, 2011.

The swap will be at the same place we have had it in the past:

Fraternal Order of the Eagles Hall
4700 N Grand River Ave
Lansing, MI 48906

Doors will open to swappers at 12:00 and the swap will go till 4:30. Vendor setup will start at 9:30 am. (We may also allow setup the day before, this will be announced once it is known for sure.)

General admission is $3 per person, kids under 16 get in free.

LOL glad to help and be a part! thanks to MMMC and CR for making it possible as well. should be a good one having 7 (i think) more spots for vendors this year! this will be my first lansing swap, it seems to always snow and a 2 hour drive plus snow doesn't do me to good but i will be there this year!

I have missed them too but I AM GOING TO COME THIS YEAR. Finally got a job where I dont have to work every single weekend. It will be amazing to hae some time off with the family for one thing and too be able to attend events again.

I plan on being there as well. When do people start pre selling frags to pick up? This is my first time going, and was also wondering if there are any great deals?

Frags to sell usually start up around Christmas. There are incredible deals - most corals you will pay about a third of what you would pay at your LFS. Lot more bang for your buck. If you spend $100.00, you will feel like you got a bucks worth of animals, for sure. Also a great raffle. Having won a $275.00 scoli for only $20.00 worth of raffle tickets, I can attest to that!

BTW- Anyone that is interested in donating to the club's raffle, please let me know. I'll be honest with you guys, getting donations has been very very tough this year. Shops and businesses in general are not doing as well as in year's past which is making it harder for them to donate.

Kev and I have been tossing around the idea of this swap. The drive from Columbus is a long one but we hear how awesome it is! If it wasn't for the fear of driving through multiple snow storms we would be in! We'll have to wait till we get a little closer and see if there are any tables left...

Me and my dad will be coming on Sunday. Going to be looking at mainly softies. I can actually keep more than mushrooms in my tank now because all my coral eating fish died about 2 months ago (mom added a copperband that brought in velvet), and because I upgraded the lighting on my tank.

Edit: tank sat fallow for 6 weeks, btw. There are 2 true percs and 2 smithi damsels, and 4 yellow tailed blue damsels now happily swimming around velvet free (after beng treated with copper in another system).

Yes, free entry if you are in MMMC, MASM or GRMAS. (You'll need a membership card or I need a list from the clubs...which I don't currently have.)

I just got back from setting up for the swap. You will not believe some of the corals and vendors who are already set up and ready for tomorrow's event. Incredible animals and beautiful displays! It promises to be a great swap. Bring some cash money!
