I'm making a bit of an official change here. I've always encourage group buys to check with site sponsors first to see if they would do a group discount. Shops are struggling to make it in these challenging economic times, and I want to do my part to support the stores that support us. I have always felt a bit uneasy about seeing group buy posts with companies that do not support us while all the companies that do support us see it happen under their nose. After all, it is our sponsors that helps keep our site rolling and provides the contest prizes that we all love to have.
So from now on, the group buy forum is to be used for group buys from our CaptiveReefs sponsors. There may be exceptions to this if for example an item can be purchased only from one company that doesn't compete with any of our sponsors. Also if you have a company that you would like to do a group buy from or see as a CR sponsor, feel free to pm me and I will try to send them a note to let them know there is some immediate interest in members from our community to do a group buy. Perhaps they will be more interested in sponsoring the site so the group buy can occur.
