I picked up the stand today and am going back for the tank tomorrow. They did a fantastic job on it. The edge work is really nicely done. The owners son shot a little video of it and put it on you tube. Here is the link.

what happened to the 270g tank?

The 270 gallon was making waves in my marriage. It is in hte basement and I want to visit it often. I get lost so to speak about the time and end up down there for an hour. My wife gets angry because I am not spending time with her and the girls. End up in marital counseling. There were other things we worked out but this was a big sore spot. So I decided to sell the big tank and get something that would fit upstairs, be stylish and big enough to keep me happy and my wife happy.

Thanks to EMU reef (russ) for helping me out today and to Sir Patrick (chris) for stopping over to lend a hand. That was one cute baby you brought with you. Livi talked about her to my wife tonight and to her sister that she saw a little baby today.

I can't wait to stop over and check things out when you get everything settled. This is the tank I have wanted for a while now!

I think that with the large Alpha smikker and the self cleaning head on it it will more than handle this tank. I am going to use the denitrator still but will passively run carbon. The controller is staying along with the dosers. I need to measure them and see if the bubble mages shelves will work to put the controller and pumps on.

Mike what denitrator do you use? Do you run it all the time or only as needed?

I have the big one form Midwest. I am sure I will not need nearly as much sulfur as I am using now. It will drop nitrates to squat and keep them there.

I might end up running only the denitrator and the skimmer even. I think the ozone will be on hold and more carbon added to replace it. I may plumb in the UV sterilizer I have as a just in case I need it thing on a bypass.
