anyone have/use the "my aquarium logger" android app? im considering paying the $2.99 for this, its pretty much a database for your tank, you can put on there items such as coral say i bought a 1 polyp rasta today 11/16/10 i can take a picture of it and log it on there with the date and feeding habbits of my tank so in a month or so i can go back and update the log and see how much it grow from the first day i purchased it etc... same with fish, you can log the length and species and see how much it grew. you can log parameters on it as well to see how steady they are over time, or like me i just switched salts i can see if it makes a difference.

just wondering if anyone used it before i purchased it.

Wonder if anyone would be interested in this type of functionality built right into CR?

I haven't used it before but I'm intrigued! I literally use my Android for everything now, haven't turned on my laptop since I got my HTC Incredible.

i would be interested jim, its an easy way to keep track of growth, how many times you frag something, who you sold the items to etc... could also keep our parameters in check and see how they vary throughout the year such as temp in the summer compared to winter and if the summer temp actually improved our growth or the growth rate decreased due to the heat. it would be a great feature to have thats for sure!

and yeah i am also intrigued but its an app with cost so i wasn't to sure if anyone used it, its only been out for 2 weeks now but has a good review on it so i am considering it. would be something nice.

if it has reminders with it that would be great too saying like its time for a water change, or time to clean out your skimmer or clean your bulbs/reflectors etc...

I think you can do that on reefnook.com too.

I actually have a project I started last spring half built here on CR already. I got to a point where I was stuck with the coding...the idea was to have reminders built into the system. For example, you log in when you changed your lights and then set up a reminder to change them again. The system would then pm or email you a reminder. The script I have is functional as far as basic logging right now.

If there is enough people interested, I will try to find a programmer to take it over and finish it up. (Any php coders here on CR interested in helping please let me know...vbulletin experience a plus!)

to temp to this is my main consideration, in the summer i had superb grown and my tank was around 80 the whole time, now that its winter my tank stays at a steady 76 with my heater and reefkeeper and it seems things slowed down a bit, i may give the temp a little bump up to 78 and see what happens.

I have been using an app called KeepTrack on my droid. You can set up a category for everything you want to monitor. It will build a graph over time of you want to look at trends. There is an alarm function, though I never tried it. I suppose you could create a category for bulbs, and set an alarm.
