This will do you... this is the same unit many of us here use. I bought my 6 stage for $90 (minus the pressure tank and drinking water dealy.... now I wish I had gotten it.)

Here's a link to their ebay store, should find everything you need.

I have the same filter, excellent filter for the money.

Agreed... the only things I've done to modify is to remove the last carbon cartridge(for taste... not too neccessary) anhd have added an auto membrane back flush.

Man that is a great deal! I am going to have to get myself one. Any problems that come up after awhile though. Just want a little feedback.

Sounds good. Hows long does it usually take for 5 gallons to be filtered through.

Will with the 3 in the tank and low water perisher about 30 to 40 minutes

The rate at which pure water will be produced will vary greatly, it's really dependant on the water pressure at the source end (your house), and the condition of your filters. For the present we have lousy pressure ~35psi and it takes about 16 hours fill a 32g container, so about 2gph. YMMV

man thats harsh... have to plan a day ahead if you have a big tank just for a water change.

Not really, I just keep 35gals of fresh SW mixed up and about a hundred gallons or so of RO/DI on hand at all times...

getting everything completely automated now so it's getting easier to manage, I hate that "did I turn off that line before I left for work" thought that nags at you all day wondering if I'll get home to a flood.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#What accessories did you guys have to buy with that ro/di unit?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

The only thing I ordered was the RO/DI unit and a TDS meter. Trying to remember for sure if it came with a saddle valve or if I had to use one I had on hand. Other than that it was 100% complete.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#We don't really drink the filtered water at my house, everything is bottled. Again, I've learned something new from the board, I need to change the filter soon in the system. Another thing, how trust worthy are the water purifiers? It would save me70 cents a gallonand mutliple trips to the store. I don't see any testing equipment hooked up tomy system and it's a Kinetico Water Purifying Systemif anyone has it.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks,#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Clem#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Another option would be to check the username filterdirect on eBay, they have complete 6 stage RO/DI units for $80-90. Many of us here run that unit and have had excellent results.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#How often do you check the water for the ph and tds? What equipment or hand heldsdo you recommend to check these levels? I got my tank and quarantine tank set up, now it's just making sure the water I use to replenish is clean. I got to purchase some kind of test equipment. Just to throw this question out there, I got a testing kit for my tank and I'm sure you know it has a ph tester, do you guys use that or should I get a separate digital tester that I don't stick into the tank itself or how do you do it? My 20 gallon tank needs water pretty much everyday.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Clem#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

I purchased a TDS meter with the RO/DI unit... I test the TDS once a month or so, if I think about it, usually if I start seeing more orange than green in the DI resin tells me it's time to keep an eye in things.

pH I usually test at the tank, one of these days I'll get around to ordering a pinpoint digital meter for now I just use a couple of different test kits. I suppose I really should try to get back in the habit of testing my salt mix and make up water more often for more than just nitrates. I just sort of spot check things, one of these days it'll bite me I'm sure.
