Got more rocks than a crack dealer lol. Actually, have a lot of rock b/c it came with the numorous tanks I got and then I scored a ton of rock from someone.

I bought 35 pounds to put in my 34g tank. But, technically the "display area" of the tank is only 29g, I am told. Still, I didn't have room for all the rocks I got, so about three pounds of rock just sat bleaching in the garden all summer. Now that they are bright white, and free of bugs (I bleached them a couple months back), I am going to try to make some frag racks with them. Maybe I will even take a picture or two of the process.
I like less rock for sure. I think less is certainly more in a display tank. You have to do things to provide hiding places but if you plan it out you can accomplish this with a lot less rock than conventional thinking tells us. The more open you can make it the better for flow, cleaning, ect.

I agree that less is more holds true for aquascape rock. I have about 1lb/gallon in the display and about .5lb/gal in the sump. I think, lol. I have a fair amount of open space. But I wish I hadn't gone quite so high on the left side of my tank.http://i829.photobucket.com/albums/zz212/rmalone68/2011-04-17_13-02-50_959.jpg

There we go, I assume thats about 1lb/gallon. The rock in my sump and the display filled two trash cans while I was "cooking" it.

I have about 50 pounds of rock total in my system. It is 150g display with about 35g in the sump. So what is that about 1/4 pound per gallon. I can't say I need any more rock I kinda love the minimalist look of my tank, and there are plenty places to put coral.

Total for the system I have around 550lb, but only 125-150 of that is in the 125g display.
