how is it possible to heat a 1g tank, ive thrown around ideas the past month to heat my 1g micro pico just havent found anything fantastic just yet, the temp is roughly 73-74ish right now, my house stays pretty cold in the winter, there is only about 1/2 gallon of water volume due to sand bed and rock. just looking for a way to heat the little thing. right now i just run a single 3w cree light above it and an air bubbler, i am seeing growth on my yellow stone polyps and my mini carpet anemones seem to like it as well, i am going to add some mini gbtas soon and eventually try to get a single or pair of anemone shrimp to live in that tank (aka sexy shrimp) but would like to see if i can get proper heat before adding them

Hydor makes one for just this type of scenario. If you don't want another cord going into the tank it could always be in the HOB filter. Here is a link to the heater.

that hydor heater is perfect for your 1 gallon..i have 2 of them and they keep my little pico at 76 degrees year round. we keep our house pretty cool both summer and winter...i have mine under the sand bed but you could put it in the filter also.

They make a heat lamp bulb for reptile tanks for night that do not emitt light. You could try one of these aimed at the back of the tank

Put in reality one of those hydor heaters burried in the sand should work just fine

yeah i did it on a 3g but the heater says rated for 2-5 gallons so i wasnt to sure, ill just bury it deep in the sand and move it up slowly in the sand bed if i want the temp to rise, it has a 4" sand bed lol!

I use one of those for my tank too. No dials no knobs :) preset to go no higher then 80. It's a 50w
Auto shutoff-great for summers. I really like this little heater. Never an issue and I've had it for over a year.

that heater looks good, but in a 1g it could get bulky, i am thinking the hydor mini because its flat not round so putting it in the sand bed shouldnt be an issue at all or even under it, im just trying to hide as much as i can because anything is visible in a 1g tank.

What about a reptile pad? Set the tank on top of it.

might possibly work, the tank is superman shaped though so the pad would either have to be small or it would stick out of the sides of the tank.

here is a picture of the tank:

its the 1g tank on the right. i cut out the stock light and put a 3w cree cool white led in it.
