I am making a "frag rack" out of reef rock that I will either glue or "magnet" to the back of my tank. I have an open spot just under the powerheads that I would like to fill with some color.

Anybody have suggestions for what might go up there? It will be about 4" below the surface, with T5 lighting above it. Also, this shelf will be just below the powerheads on my tank. It's an RSM130D, so there is no way to move them.

So, more than modest lighting, and lots of water movement. Any suggestions from anyone?

Maybe a monti cap?

some kind of SPS that loves turbulance.. I have a fuzzy acro right in front of my MP10 in Tidal Swell and his little fuzzes are always out. He seems to love it there. I am under 6 T5HO lights in a 29G biocube.

I would try an encrusting monti.

Thanks, guys. Gonna look into these montiporas now... soon as I can figure out this frag shelf idea.

I am going to have to make myself a similar frag rack. I am putting a green an orange and a purple cap on it or in the same area. I may just go buy a magnet scrubber for this purpose but it will likely have to be heavy duty with that wieght on it. When they grow up of course.

I would track down a nice size frag of the Jedi Mind Trick Undata Monti, lots and lots of great color and then you can sell me a little frag once it grows in! LOL.

I got a monti cap for that spot (thanks, jimsflies) - love that Jedi thing... though, I think the "fans" of the capricornis will fill out that space better. And while it will shade the coral below, its a Kenya Tree so...
