canopy, lights , glass cover ect..

for a 75 gal tank that is 48x18x20 with 2x double bulb t5 retros would
I need a glass cover for my tank in addition to a canopy or what?

Glass under the lights may not be such a great idea, first the glass will reflect some of the light back up instead of down to the tank. Not to mention any salt spray will quickly cover the glass and you will lose even more light to the tank, unless you clean it thoroughly almost daily. Tried it on our 55g, ended up tossing the glass after a short time.

I got glass cut the same length but like 2 inches wider than the light fixture to prevent this. I see all the salt buildup on the glass instead of the lights.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Is there something different I should be doing with my light fixture to prevent the salt from accumulating on it? #ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Asmall exhastfan, go to even your local hardware store and find a small fan much like the one you have in your bathroom to vent out the horible smell, but smaller hook it up so that it will circulate the air out of the inside of your canopy befor the condensation bilds up on your lighting fixturs, much like the same idea when your windsheild gets foged up in your car. Now with your fixturs if there is no condensation there is no salt, problem solved well at least it works for me. give it a shot see how it works for you. good luck.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
