What is involved in those flushing kits I see for RO filters? Is it simply some T's and fittings that allow you to run the water flow in reverse through the RO membrane? Can I just fit some T's on both ends of the RO membrane, run the water source to the exit side of the membrane and then run the water out of another T on the input side of the membrane and run it down the drain?
Any concerns I should have with water pressure and such?

Bump - (I've never backflushed mine... is it needed?)

After more research I think that it is not "BACKFLUSHING", but more like fast flushing water over the membrane to remove whatever the membrane has traped. It is supposed to make the membrane last longer.
I was hoping Repto could step in cause I think he would have the answer.
