Unhappy Lost almost everything:cryin:!!!
Well I accidentally plugged in my Kalk Rx instead of the Tunze!!!!!!!!!
came back home after 1hr to snow whit tank and empty Kalk.
After 65g of water change I begun noticing the carnage. First I had to remove my passed Flame Wrasse' and started to see my SPS again well skeletons in most cases:angelsad:
The real kicker is it does not matter what sweet accessories I have if i do not pull my head out of my a s s and follow the basics :stupidme::stupidme::stupidme::stupidme::stupidme: :stupidme::stupidme::stupidme:!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Truley sick to my stomach.
will post more after I go to the store for some Coke to wash the Jack Daniel's down w/
Thank you fellow Reefer Manoj AKA Firsttime for the emergency water hookup

Been there and done this....This sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before.
When you get the cleanup done and back on the road to recovery, we'll have to see if we can figure out a way to keep it from happening again. I found that a few extra lines of code in my controller program would have prevented it when it happened to me.
Carbonated water will help you get your pH back down. (Use your calcium reactor if you have one to make some by hooking up an aerator to the line and bubbling it into a bucket with saltwater.)

bro that sucks, im sorry to hear that. Thats the bad part of this hobby, its not if something like this is going to happen but when. I had my tank wiped out 2 years ago, it definintly makes you sick to your stomach, literaly. If you have anything left that needs to be held or need anything let me know. If you go to the swap stop by and say hi, ill hook u up with something.
Sorry to hear about the crash Knuckles. I did the same thing just over a year ago. I ended up taking everything out and replacing my sandbed. It turned into cement basicially. Tossing colonys is not something I ever want to do again. I wouldnt wish it on anyone. Frag what you have a chance in saving.
After I had my last Kalk "issue", I went out and bought a digital timer to hook my kalk mixing pump too and another that operates my doser. The timer for the mixing pump only turns on twice in 24hrs....now I dont touch it. The doser timer comes on 5 times a night for 1 min. Its not a fail safe system but its a little added protection. Im considering adding a ph monitor and plugging the doser into it as a added backup.

That's terrible news. It's easy to make those mistakes, especially when you have lots of things on your mind. I try to always have a failsafe on stuff like this, heaters, and the RO system.

oh dam dude, that really really sucks. I know you had some real nice stuff too. Good luck on the rebuild man, sorry for your loss. Maybe you should change your screen name to Dknucklehead now?? Sorry man, couldn't pass it up. We live and we learn.

I plugged in a heater that wasn't in the water once thinking it was a powerhead cord. Burned a nice long mark in my stand. The next day I put labels on all of my plugs. Dave, if everything is back up and running by January 30th, you ought to be able to get a good head start on stocking your tank for free with everything you can pick up at the Lansing Swap. Add me to the list of donors.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! I cannot believe it!!!! A Christmas miracle in January!!!!!
I could procrastinate no longer so I fired up the T5s and turned off the 3 tunzes I was running to help clean up the sediment.
I could not believe my eyes! first looked @ Red Dragon..intact, Pink Lemonade..intact, Rainbow..burnt backside of branches. Only 3 losses from the frag rack, LPS not effected at all.
Casualties:
FISH: Flame Wrasse 1 super male and 2 female, Yellow Tang
Coral: Strawberry Fields colony (might save 1/2"), most of my Pearlberry, Validia colony HUGE!, Aussie Gold took a hard hit.
I swear they turned into the snow white acro. Could it be the slime trapped the Kalk that was cleared by the excessive Tunzage?
Do not know but I am accepting the gift.

I was in super speed mode. My dogs did not even ask for dinner and looked at me like I was nuts!!
Japanese call it Mushin, I did not even stop to think just shut everything down and it was butts and elbows and saltwater flying (thank God for Hoover Steam Vac!)
