Whitetigers 2.25 gal contest tank

Well the 15 gal tank is done for..got a pair of seahorses and the are wrecking havoc on my zoa plugs so instead of dropping out i am entering my 2.25 gal pico in the contest..I talked to Jolson and he said i could do it if i did it by Feb 28..so here it is..I rescaped it for better coral placement..I found a couple of pieces of rock at pruess on sunday and epoxied them together..i think it looks good.. ok getting ready to take the empty tank shot now..then getting my price list off the other thread...

this tank is also in the DYI contest..I am building a canopy for it and placing led's in it..

1 polyp rainbow ricordea= 25.00
4 polyp purple deaths = 20.00
2 polyp orange ricordea = 20.00 bought 1 polyp at swap for 10.00 it has split since then
2 polyp captian america = 80.00 bought from jolson at swap
4 polyp misc zoas = 20.00

now to start adding corals
mods i will pm one of you when i get what else i want in the tank so you can delete my 15 gal tank.

well the thing is ..i bought it as 1 polyp but by the time i got it home and in a holding tank the dang thing split on me..just like my captian america..bought it as 1 polyp but by the time he got it to me it had a baby so i counted it as 2 polyps..have to ask the mods on that one..thanks for the compliment Chris

Looks good, that is a heck of a change in just one day.
It should have good flow and lots of spots for coral, should be great little tank that looks big.

ok quick update..

i got the light fixture that 2pairs gave me for this pico..(thanks Jim) not sure how its going to work but the corals seem to love it.. i need to do a water change and re arrange some corals then i will take some pics..it does make the pink zippers zip..lol

first off is the light..this light 2pairs built and offerered it to me..there are 80 1/4 watt led's in this thing and its powered by a 350w computer power supply..it fits my pico very nice..again thanks Jim.

some of the corals in there are not mine..im coral sitting for chort while his tank cycles.hoping a head of his acan gorws on the rock..lol. once he gets his corals i will put all mine back in there..

It looks like that light was built for a 2 1/2 gal tank.
Having seen that light those corals have to look reel nice. They probably pop like crazy on that little tank.
Can't wait to see it all grown up and out.

That is what I thought but low light coral grew very well and things just seem to glow.

oh and i forgot to document that i did a modification on the light..i had a strip of 50/50 led's that i used to use as a moonlight sitting around and thought what the heck..so i added them into the light system too..made it a little brighter..i will try to get a pic of the upgrade when the lights go off

well i to did this experiment that 2pairs did and as was with him..im not sure this light is going to be enough. i already had to pull the acans out of there and the zoa's arent looking so good right now so i might have to pull this light..really bums me out because its the color spectrum i like..just not bright enough for the corals.. i will update with pics when i decide what to do..

Sorry to here that, when I was running it softies did good just not the sps. I agree completely about great color just not bright enough. I guess it just goes to show that coral don't always like what we do. Let us know what you decide to do.

for right now im going to leave the light fixture on there..might try to add a couple more white lights in there..i have pleanty...lol..new pics coming soon..
