Bumped the reset button on my power strip.....

Was doing some tank maintainance, and bumped the reset button on my power strip. Everything kicked off. No biggie I figured. Flipped the switch, and everything started/clicked back on.....

Except 2 of the lights, on my 6 bulb tek t5ho light fixture!!! They wont switch back on for anything. The light is split to 2 chords- the 4 in the middle, and the 2 ends. The 2 ends wont come back on for anything!!! They have their own seperate switch on the back of the fixture too, and it lights up still when you switch the power on, but no light!!

Is this common? Any ideas? Can pushing the reset button harm anything electrically??? I am stumped....and pretty bummed....

Sorry to hear, but I'm afraid I'm no help to you. The light doesn't happen to have a reset button built into it somewhere does it? In order to reset an internal breaker.

Not that I have seen. No breakers/switches at all, other than the on/off switch.

Did the bulbs get bumped at all? If so it may just be a bad connection in an endcap. Not sure how helpful that is but thought I'd thow it out there.

Hmmm...lights are working again- just take forever to turn on. They dont turn on right away. Wonder why??

When doing the tank maintanance last night, I only disturbed under the stand and the power strip. I was adding reflectors to the lights in the sump, that are completely seperate from the lights on the tank.

Wierd, huh??

Anyone know any possible causes for the bulbs to take a long time to fire?

I've found them to be finicky sometimes, they may have just shorted out. Had it happen to my fixture twice during quick power outtages.
