Go with a sump and a good skimmer

Adding to Jerry, include a refugium and you can't go wrong. We love the real estate the 6x2x2 180g tanks gives you for citters....

Did you get it drilled for overflows or closed loops or anyhting?

An advantage to going slow is you'll have the time to get everything the way you want it, hopefully the first time. :D

exactly what dakar said the name of this hobby is patience. Take it slow and it will save you money in the long run. If you have to room to do a sump then by all means to a sump. these have so many advantages. 1 they hide allof your equipment, your heaters your skimmer your pumps. and you can split them to include a refugium which is a great filter in all its own and is a safe place for all of your pods to grow and nutrient export. but if this is not an option you want a good skimmer I would suggest a prizm they are worth the money. but take your time and if you have the mone y to spend then spend it. If you skimp on the filtration and the lighting now you will end up spending the money later on down the road. Good luck
