I just learned of this and am passing along the info.

Image of letter acquired from reefbuilders. I didn't get a copy before I left work.

What are you using now Chris? Luckily I have a titanium ground in my tank, and am using the not recalled 50w. They have been known to explode, and can break a tank.

Apparently marineland has made an agreement with petsmart to help handle the recall. Several people on a freshwater site have printed the email from this link and returned heaters for store credit with no receipt. I will be trying it out later this week.

Looks like that Petsmart recall is only for the Pros. What is the difference between the Pro and normal Stealth heaters? We have a ton of Stealth heaters around here and I'm not sure whether they are pro or not...

The pros are the new version with the led to tell if they're on.

Is it only the pro models they will replace? I have some of the older ones that have started going bad and zapping me. Figured if I can get them replaced I might as well.

Just got off the phone with foster and smith. They emailed me a return shipping label within 5 min of getting off the phone and will be issuing a credit once they receive the heaters. I also had the option of getting a replacement heater and label sent but they are out of those and would have been put on a back order list. The whole thing with being on hold only took 10 min.

I contacted Foster & Smith and they indicated only the Pro models 100w & above.

print out the email link I posted and take them all to the closest petsmart. Petsmart never carried the 300w so you may need to use the phone number for marineland in the link. If you odered a 300w through f&s in the last 18months they should have sent an email. It is now up to a dozen or so that said petsmart just check your model and scan a tag and you have store credit, 39.99 for a 250w.
