#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I put crushed coral in my tank today and it left my tank very cloudy. I rinsed the coral off until it came as clean as it would come. Will it eventually filter itself out? Is there anything I can do? #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

it will take a while for all of the dust to settle its just a littel snow storm not to worry

another question, did you rinse the coral before you put it in the tank???? if you did not then it will take longer for it to clear up

No worries, that's just a mild 'sandstorm', it'll settle down in a few days, are you cycling the tank now as well? Eventually good bacteria will attach to the fine particles and weigh them down.

Mild as in you have obviously never seen a few hundred pounds of sand thrown into a tank..... looks like milk for a week :)

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Yes, I am filtering the tank and I did rinse the coral, that's why I was so suprised to end up with a cloudy tank. I was worried I was going to have to start over so thanks.#ed_op#IMG src="http://www.captivereefing.com/richedit/smileys/Happy/11.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

you could rinse that coral for a full day and would still have some sort of sediment when you introduced it to the tank. but like dakar said it will settle in about a day to a day and a half. and then the fun begins.
