Lately seems we have had a lot of folks talking about putting in sumps with older undrilled tanks
so i got to looking back at whit i done whine i set up my 55 and thought id repost some of it for the younger refers to see .I only have 2 are 3 pics left wish id saved more.#
Most tanks can be drilled [ just not in the bottom ] all it takes is sometime and a few tools

#1 A variable speed drill
#2 Diamond hole saw
#3 water in a spray bottle

Most tempered tanks have a sticker on them if not you can go to the manufacture and find out if and wear Thea are tempered. The ones I'm most afraid of or the thine ones like come from Wall mart But you can destroy any of them if not careful so don'ttake this lightly if you ever decide to try it
iv drilled 4 so far with out problems but the next one may be the unlucky one

Jerry is right when drilling, its hit and miss I have drilled a couple of tanks in the past and you just want to be very carefull and take plenty of time. the spray bottle is a good idea as well. I actually used the garden hose and just kept it at a trickle and that worked well also.
