#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#SPAN class=postbody#ed_cl#Hey all....could use some help on my lighting. I have a 75 gallon tank with a coralife light that LFS sold me (only after I bent over of course). I would like to replace with the best option but I don't want to overload. Can anyone help?#ed_op#/SPAN#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

If you ever believe that you will eventually upgrade, go with dual 175 to 250 watt MH with actinic supplimentation.

There is no doubt that I will upgrade, Do you have any brand suggestions?

Also I noticed you have a ca reactor. Any suggestions. Is this something I can wait on or if I have the $$4 should I just get it taken care of. What's a Kalk reactor?

IMO, if you're gonna upgrade... get it if you have the $$$. I like PFO ballasts w/XM metal halides(10k). VHO actinics on a icecap ballast would also be my next choice. Spend the $$$ and get high grade reflectors, too(parabolic, reefoptic II's, etc).
Plumb in the Calcium reactor, but don't bother using it until you have the demand for it. As for the kalk reactor... AKA kalkwasser reactor, do a dearch here or a google and you'll see tons of info... IMO, hook it up when you're ready to run the tank.

I'm an idiot with DIY. At least I know that...right? Are there any light packages. Can you give me a name to google?

As far as a good source with reasonable pricing for a complete MH setup, I would recommend hellolighting.com. You may also want to check out cool touch lighting on Ebay. They have an Ebay store and maybe Beginner Reefer will vouch for them since they are Canucks and all!

Another good site for very affordable lighting is www.aquariumlight.com

They have very affordable lights (2x250MH 2x110VHO for like 530$) You can upgrade them as you wish, (UV shield, fans, moonlights, etc etc etc. (They do not come with MH bulbs so you will have to buy those seperatly, but even after you buy the MH bulbs its still under 700 which is pretty good for a 2x250 2x110VHO in my opinion) As far as their quality.... I'm not to sure, but, i believe everything comes with a 2 year warranty, and for the price, you cant beat it. Check it out and maybe you will find something that interests you.
