Yea, i was just wondering if this was the same thing as what is in a wet/dry or similar and if it would be a good/bad idea to use.

They are called BioMate filter media balls, and the ones I'm looking at are Foam-filled (the help with biological and mechanical filtration). Was just wondering if they would be a bad idea. (They kind of seem like what is in a wet/dry, and I've been told that bio balls create a problem l8r on down the road. I don't think these are "bio-balls" but not sure, they are foam in the middle.)

They'll end up the same way, probably in a shorter amount of time.

On the other hand, If you can stack them together like Lego's (bio-balls can), you'd be better off building a rocketship or something with them instead :)

they are the same thing and they turn into a nitrate factory. I would steer away from them.

OK. Thanks, was just checking cuz if they would be ok, was going to use them in my sump/refug just to get a little bit of extra filtration but thanks for the input, i know not to get them now.

Not sure, but I'm assuming that if they were carbon filled instead of foam or sponge or w/e, it would be the same affect?
