#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Hey guys, just wanted to share some pics of the new light and some corals. I'm so excited to finally have the right equipment to substain some coral life, and hopefully it will thrive. It's only been about 5 yrs. and I think I'm finally where I wanted to be with this tank in the beginning, or has it just started?#ed_op#IMG src="/richedit/smileys/8.gif"#ed_cl#My new corals are looking pretty happy.#ed_op#IMG src="/richedit/smileys/2.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Looking good! What kind of bulb are you running for the halide? supplemental lights?

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks guys, it's honestly the first thing I ever built, it and a cabinet for my sump. I did them both with only a skillsaw and mitre saw, man what I would've done for a table saw.#ed_op#IMG src="http://www.captivereefing.com/richedit/smileys/Other/22.gif"#ed_cl#I'm running a XM 20k bulb which I like, but I feel like I need supplemental to enjoy the tank a few hours more a day. I have my previous ligh which was a 30" current 2x65 watt pc. I've taken it apart, could I use one of those ballasts and put a 24"65 watt bulb on it with no problems? And if I can should I go with actinic or more of a 10k? #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Might want to use both 65w PC's in there to supplement the blue from 20K halide with some white, 10K bulbs might give you a really nice appearance. The fixture is really easily hacked apart to get the goodies out.
