Finally picked up my 55 gl tank and cabinet today at the LFS(which isn't very local).Had to wait a long time for it to come in.The bad news is that the cabinet is very narrow inside do to the center supports at 10 1/4".My plans of a 20 gl tall tank for a sump are now finished as it's to wide. There's nothing other than custom that will be long enough for my design for a skimmer chamber on one side with my Euro Reef CS-5 skimmer and a foot print of 9"x9".my mag 9.5 in the center which is 3" wide and on the other end a refugium.A 15gl tall might fit in there but it's kind of short at 20" long, with baffles would leave little for a refugium. The guy at the LFS gave me some crap for going with a mag 9.5, said it was to big for a 55 gl.My plans are to have it tee'd off with a ball valve feeding back to the sump to throttle it back if need be. I'm going to be using a SCWD with it so I went with a larger pump to compensate for the flow loss using the SCWD.If anyone has any idea's for a sump that would fit I'd appreciate it.
Thanks Rick

I toke the back center braes out and reinforced the cabinet with tow by fours
That let me put a larger sump in. And made it stronger Thain before
Not hard to do and you don't need a lot of tools to accomplish it

If the 15 fits in there why not add another 10g tank for your refugium? They should fit end to end and tie them together wiith an overflow.

Though a custom sump/fuge made from acrylic is not difficult to whip together with nothing more than a tablesaw (a router would help to finish edges but not needed). Took me less than a weekend to build my first with no previous acrylic working experience.

Thanks...but how would I rig them up, would I use an overflow box with siphon tube? The 15 gl is 4" taller than the 10 gl. Wouldn't I in that case have the 15 overflow into the 10? Or use 2 10's or 2 15's.

That would work. I have our 20g fuge running with a weir box that spills back into the sump and it works like a champ, I like simple fixes like that.
