would the durostandpipe setup work for a predrilled tank with out an
overflow box??? I have an 80g tank that is predrilled with 1
drain pipe and 1 return, neither are in a overflow box. the drain is
like a small tube connected to the bulkhead fitting with a larger outer
pipe, so that it gets water from the top and bottom of the tank, at the
top there is an overflow basket type thing with a rigid air tube that
is supposed to be adjustable to maintain proper water level in tank,
but it is a pain to setup and can be noisy. Thinking of a single drain
pipe setup similar to the durostandpipe and modifying the return pipe
to be a multiport setup with adjustable nozels??#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
any advice would be great....new member, great forum!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

Welcome aboard!!!

I would like to help but I am little lost in your description of the current set-up. Any way you could post a picture or a drawing?

I am sure we could help out with some ideas.

Hmm. I am sure we can figure something out. A couple questions:

1. The internal pipes are 1" right?

2. How big are the other "guard/shield" pipes?

3. How are the guard pipes attached?

4. On the drain side, are the inlets screened off to prevent sucking up creatures?
