huh never delt with cleaner clams, I have a maxima clam, you have to have good water quality and light for maxima clams.

Same here, however we've made several purchases from these folks, that should say a lot. Their stock selection has been very limited for a while now.

looking through the fish they "have", the mention a few of their gobies pairing off with pistol shrimp.....anyone had this happen?

yeah I have a diamond goby whose best friend is a pistol shrimp they are never apart

Shultzy's does and they(gobies and shrimp) will pair off nicely. For another broader selection of very nice clams, see Barry at www.clamsdirect.com . Although, most T. species of clams prefer intense light, some will do well in lower-light situation and have been seen to thrive better in tanks seemingly higher in nitrates. I brought this up to a fellow reefer some time ago and in response, he re-added bioballs to his wet/dry filter to test and wholeheartedly agrees. Mine(2 T. crocea, and 1 T. maxima) look terrific and I prefer NO nitrates due to my chosen sps sensitivity... I recently had to remove a very robust T. squamosa to a larger tank due to growth.

I stick with the Maxima's myself. I personally like to by the 1-2" Maximas, because you have them longer, and you get to watch them grow. It's amazing how they can change seemingly overnight with what seems like a growth spirit. My advice is to just start with one, and learn all about feeding them and such. I'd be happy to help you anytime to take care of a baby like the 1-2" Maximas. :) ...:angel7:

Thanks everybody for your help. A Maxima is down the road I already know that. But thats when I got my tank all set up and stablish. I'm still on the first algae bloom right now... iti s getting kinda gross, oh well. Thanks again
