#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#OK, I got my new Remora Pro w/ mag3 pump and installed it yesterday. Lots and lots and lots of tiny bubbles, from what I read that is normal until it gets "broken in". When I first installed it I did so with the short (about 1.5 inch) length of tubing that came with it. I went to store and bought 24 inches of this line so I could hide the pump behind my rock and rest it on the bottom of the tank. This also helped the unit to set up straight since the weight of the pump caused it to lean slightly to one side. My question is....Will this modification hurt performance? I would'nt think so but I thought it best to ask.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Also for anyone that is researching HOB skimmers, this one is quieter than the FIN 60 freshwater filter that was on my tank.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

As long as you are getting good bubble flow of tiny bubbles I can not see and issue with it. But there are others here with a lot more knowedge than me that may not agree.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I am pretty sure it doesn't make a difference sincethe heightyou arepushing out of the water is the same. The pump only has to work at pushing water above the water line of the tank.Just an FYI, some folks use an over flow type box around the pump so they are pulling in the dustand slime that collects on the surface of the water. The box also hides the pump.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
