#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#My PH was at 8.2 two weeks ago when I started my tank up. As I understand this is a somewhat ideal place to be.Last weekend it was at 7.8. Today it is still at 7.8. Is this acceptable or is there something I need to do? The tank is still cycling according to testing. I have read all kinds of things about baking soda, washing soda and even water flow stirring up the top of the tank. What would be the best, if any thing to do. I have a45 gallon tank with a Remora pro w/mag3, mj1200 and mj600 for circulation, 40lbs of live sand and about 45 pounds of dead rock. Any help will be appreciated.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

When are you testing your PH? The reading should be higher early in the morning before the lights are turned on

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#So I guess I should test at the same time each day? All test were done at night except for the last one (today) it was about 7 oclock this morning. Lights were on for previous test, test this morning was after about 12 hours of no light.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Since you are still cycling this is the best time to get everything sorted out, nothing to really effect with rapid pH swings and the life... try to get a couple of tests at the same time frame for a couple of days and see what you come up with.

Yep... test in the same time frame... am and pm. That should give you a range of your highs and lows.I prefer not to drop below 7.9, but as you have researched, you can see that there's some pretty simple ways to increase ph by simply reducing co2 in your system(maybe a bit more aggitation at the water surface). Could also be that with the weather getting a bit cooler that your in-house atmospheric co2 is a tad higher which would effect your ph.
