#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I think I have made the worst rookie mistake!!!!! I am new to this, here goes... I am setting up a 180g fowlr and a 55g sump. I was glueing the pvc together and did not use any cement. I only used the purple primer. This is my 1st time using pvc so I didn't know it was a 2 part system. Is there any hope...or just revamp it all and start over?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Thank you had better start over are you may have a lot of leaks.
Maybe you can save and reuse most of the PVC

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I will reuse whatever I can, but I will need to replace 3-3/4" bulkheads.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Definatly you will need to glue the PVC, all that the purple primer does is clean the PVC prior to glueing.

Chalk up a score in the 'oops' column.... and be glad it's a mistake you'll only make once... good thing PVC is pretty cheap, though the bulkheads can get expensive... threaded bulkheads make life a little easier (just be sure you use teflon tape on the threads), with on drawback the threaded adapters tend to be a bit narrower and will restrict water flow.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#do I let the primer dry before using the cement?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

pretty sure all of them recommend allowing it to dry before applying the cement...I know I do, but you might want to read the instructions on the can in the event it's different.

Just 3 times whit it was 6 weeks ago thanks to the Hurricanes and greed of some that take advantage of them
