I can't get enough of the Soap Opera happening between my 4 little damsels that are roughing out my tank cycle. I call them the HAZMAT crew.
One of the little buttheads has taken up residence in a small cavern right in the center of the tank. If any of the other 3 come within sight of the opening to said cavern...they are jumped and get a butt kickin' right then and there.
The problem is, the cavern opening can see about 3/4 of the front of the tank, so the 3 friendly damsels are being confined to the back corners of the tank. I am thinking about isolating the bully in a hanging box on the side of the tank so the others can call him names and make fun of him.
....do they make Dunce Caps for damsel fish?

.............not a bad idea. I have to catch all 4 of them as soon as my water quality is suitable for other fish. I will such him out of the hole with a siphon tube if I have too.

LOL! You could make a really funny movie of that ... take a few minutes of video of the bully in the box while the others are checking him out in there and superimpose a dunce cap on him and put little text bubbles above the other guys showing them teasing him! Youcould win a prize on Funniest Animal Videos! :D

My domino Dammy decided he didnt want to live anymore. I think there are some changes happening, CUZ the Stripers are still active, and the blue is too, but they are breathing way fast, and are not as active as yesterday. They are also hanging low in the tank. I need to get to LFS and get a test kit, as I want to see what stages of the cycle we are starting. Do I need to get another one to keep the cycle, or should I just let it run w/ 3 of em' 70 gal tank 2 days old FNG

I have had little to no success with my bio-spira....I have done it twice and the cycle is still no where near done. It improves the readings for a few days and then they just settle back into the cycle.....I wish I would have saved my $50.

All you need is a fresh are frozen shrimp from the store no need to make fish suffer or get a quick fix that don't work most of the time
