#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Hello all,#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# I just thought I would share some exciting news, our pair of perpermint shrimp (Lysmata Wurdemanni)have started spawning. Even better we have isolated the twoparent shrimp and the young so we can raise them...well actualymost of the spawn are part of my girl friends research project for her invertibrate zoology class, she is conducting an exsparement to test wich foods will produce the highest survival rates among the spawn at different stages in their developement. But we do have a large number of spawn left in the spawning tank that we arefeeding newly hached brine a food known to produce resonably high survival rates...so if all goes well we will soon have a lot!!! of baby pepermints around...and I dont mean like a coupeldozen more like a couple hundred so far three of the four foods being tested are showing realy good survival rates and when you consider the clutch size is some were around 600-800 spawn evenif only 20% make it to becomeadults thats still a butt load ofshrimp Any way Ill keep you guys posted.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#tigersax7 #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

How cool! Think she'd be interested in publishing her findings and report here for all of us to read?

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#who knows so far things are going well considering this is our first atempt at this...but we willneed to take what we learn from this try and aply it to another batch of spawn before we can see some real results. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
