Me, well I don't have one, yet... but if I did, I'ld probably calibrate monthly depending on amount of use.

Looks like a Dakar toy to me! When I looked at it the first time, I thought the typical wife like thoughts. Thats a very nice blue color, but what the heck is it and what doe it do. The next question was....does it hook to his computer or something, and if it does how many more hours will the mans fingers and brains be glued to the box that holds the smoke inside! hehehe! I love watching guys get their treasures! All of you are the same too. They are priceless to you...kind of like us with jewelry, diamonds preferably!

I got a refractometer a while back. it looks like the same one you have on the table even!
I've only calibrated it the first time I used it. I have checked it a few times since then to be sure it's still calibrated but it wasn't needed. Checking it once ever month or so would be fine, or if you need a precise measure for hyposalintiy (for ick).

Where'd you get the new toys from? That looks like the heater F&S had on special last month..... let us know how it works out....thinking about ordering a few of those. Tired of breaking the glass ones.

You bet them are my kind of toys, got the same refracto and a couple of those heaters today, as well as a few other things I couldn't live without, heaters look good, and seem to work quite well :) Though the gal I talked to on the phone said they were not reccomended for SW.... bullpucky, may need a little more frequent cleaning. We'll see, but for $16 how can you go wrong?
BTW the refracto shows my cheapo $6 swing arm hydrometer to be dead on accurate at 80*.. good piece of mind though.
