Is there any way to re-attach a mushroom that has come loose?

Pretty much set it where you want it and it will attach itself-don't glue it!

Put it in low flow so it doesn't blow away.

What they said!

If it doesn't like where it is at, it will disconnect itself and move around. Hopefully it wont get blown around and sucked into a power head.

Ah mushrooms! Just set it on some rock where you would like it and it should attach. Definitely don't want it sucked up in a powerhead! Or you will have a infestation!

I wish you could just glue them on like all the other corals.

Use a piece of panty hose and a rubber band to help keep it attached to the rock-work until it has a good hold on it.

I've also put them in a small container in the corner of my tank with some rubble rock. After a few days it will attach.

I have the best overall luck trying to put them in an area with low flow to get them to reattach.

I've often wondered if a plastic tooth pick could be used to hold them in place by putting it through them and securing it into a hole in the liverock. I haven't tried it yet myself, but seems like it could work. Again, I think the flow would have to be low so it stays there.

I've had mixed results with placing things (like hose or netting) over them because they need to get enough flow around them to avoid melt down.

The toothpick idea actually works too as i've tried it twice, but the container with rubble idea has had great success from many i've spoken too in the past.

Mushrooms are like weeds they always grow back. I would put it some where else. Where it was attached should sprout another mushroom. I gave a bunch of rocks away covered in mushrooms and they still keep popping up in my tank.

I agree with Jim on the box idea.

Kind of like a fish box when you are introducing a fish after QT to your DT....

That way, it still gets everything it needs, but also enough time to attach w/o anything moving it.

All the above..
And, I've also taken a mushroom (or even lose polyps before), 2 small pieces of rock rubble. I place the mushroom foot between the rocks and rubberband the rocks together creating a snug fit on the foot. I don't rubberband it so tight that it is crushing the foot...just more of a way to keep it stabilized while it attaches.

Good luck!!

I use Jims idea, I take a shallow box put rubble rock in there and put a small screen on top, still gets enough flow on top of my Frag rack but they can't come out. After a few days they attach. I also stick small zoa polyps in there as well if a few come loose from somewhere. Turns out some nice little rubble frags
