#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#is it a good thing to provide reef additives, to help keep things in balance. i once read not to add anything, unless you can test that it needs it any opions, also i was looking at a reef pack kit that has reef calcium strontium and iodide any thoughts?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#!-- / message --#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Not dosing anything that you can't test for is a very good rule to live by, and will save you many headaches . The trace elements are genreally replenished for your system as you do water changes. Depending on the salt mix you are using and your water source can often be adequate to maintain balance in an established tank, unless of course you have a high number of very calcium demanding animals, but the only way to know what effect your water changes are providing is to have a good reference point to start from, same thing for doing anything, an overdose can cause more problems than running lean on certain parameters.
