well i ordered my tank from great lakes aquariums (24x12x7) and it should be done by the end of the week, ordered the LEDS from Rapidled.com on Thursday and got them yesterday, Super fast service that is why i will continue to do business there!

got a little bored so decided to build the heat sinks up and wire everything together for the led, the 6x cool whites are running on a lpc-60-1050 meanwell to give them a little boost of speed and the 12x royal blues are running on a lpc-35-700 meanwell for visual pleasure. so 18 leds total over a 24x12x7" tank, i think it might be overkill but should look sweet.

i wired 2 ballasts in so now i can easily switch the whites off when people are over looking at frags. just need to do a little research as to where exactly to wire in the switch, i think it has to go before the meanwell so at 120v. i used 2 heatsinks 6"x6" and used some 3/4x1/2x1/16" angle to tie them together with a 3" gap in between. each heatsink will hold 9 leds, 3 cool white and 6 royal blues.

and now for the pictures:

picked up the new frag tank today, GLA did a great job on it, thicker glass than i thought so super sturdy! and i got the led fixture holder built up so tomorrow during the day i will be swapping out tanks and hopefully have some nice picture updates tomorrow afternoon!

well i got the tank switched over and all the rock/heater etc.... and got the lights set up. fired up the lights and all was well for about 2 seconds... then the white LEDS turned off so i immediately unplugged them. after investigation i realized that the solder joint coming from the power supply had come unsoldered so i resoldered it back up but still no lights. after investigation when the wire came loose it sent a shock through the led string and burned them out so now i have to re-order 6 more xp-g LEDS. lucky it was the whtie string that only had 6 leds though instead of the blue which have 12. so now the tank is up and running but i only have royal blue lights to keep the coral happy for a few days until i get the new xp-g whites shipped in.

i have to say i love the tank thanks to greatlakesaquariums.com those guys did a fantastic job, it fit perfect for what i wanted! the stand for the light turned out good and the leds turned out good. i had to to where i could switch off the white leds so i can just put the blues on for viewing pleasure so that turned out good but now it is just the waiting game for the white leds to come in.

i tried to take a picture but the blue LEDS overpower the camera flash and i cant even get a decent shot of the tank so once i get the white leds up and going i will post a picture.
