#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Has anyone found or compiled a listing of the different types of corals and their catagories, ie.softies, shrooms, lps, sps? Just when I thought I had a key to the clue box on some of the things I like,(EVERYTHING) lol, I go to the lfs and find out that I was not as knowledgable as I thought I was. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#For some reason or another I was thinking that softies and SPS were alot of the same but the lfs acted differently. He was explaining about the light levels the softies need as compared to sps and lps.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Help educate me here please.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

SPS High to extremely hi lighting

LPS Moderately high to high lighting

Soft coral low to moderately high lighting

Theirs more to it with individual corals but can be a guide line. As some sps can live in less light and a few soft do better in high lighting

Take a look at the gallery, we've been compiling a pretty good number of pics sorted into categories there. A collection from all members contributions, most should be in the proper catagory and give you a good idea of what they would normally look like in a tank vs. what some e-tailer may have posted pics of.

Thanks for the help.

All of this helps. Now I have a little better understanding of what is what. I'll probably start with a shroom or two before moving up to sps. (Now that I know which is which)
