So here is a Picture of my little brother and his wife's tank ,

They has had it up for almost 1 yr now, although it's only been really a reef tank for about 8 months and its fairly stable. He has Acans, zoas, shrooms, goni, hammer, octo-spawn, GSP, and a clam. He also has 2 clowns, an orange spot goby, and many different inverts.
Basically the only thing he was been unable to keep is SPS.

Anyways what is so amazing to me is their equipment,
They got
6x 36w T-5 (fairly nice lights)
2x power heads
And here's the crazy part.....

The only filtration is this Fluval 205 canister. Thats it, No skimmer, Nothing.
And believe me when I say they don't always stay on top of their PWC and their media changes.

no doesn't really surprise me, kinda a bigger tank for just 2 clowns and a goby. very little fish poop and if you say they have different inverts they would be cleaning that up.

Also all the corals they have are ones that don't mind a little "dirtier" water. Factor in that and as EMU said with only a few fish, not much waste that needs to be removed.

Sounds crazy but you can do. Mine isn't the most awesome tank but it only has carbon in it sometimes, and been running for 2 yrs now.
