I'm new at all this but I was wondering what is the best lighting for me. I don't plan on jumping into coral any time soon just have had my tank running for four days now but i would like to get the best lighting that would give me the option to do coral when I learn more. My tank is four ft long, twenty four inches tall, and a foot deep.

Personally I'd start out with t5's. Not necessary for a fish only tank but if you do eventually decide to keep corals you will be able to do so without having to upgrade. You'll also have a wider choice of bulb colors.

Ok a lot of people I talk to recommended them too. Some also recommend LEDs. Not sure what the best bet would be.

I wouldn't start out with the most expensive, which LED's are. I'm running the Aquaticlife t5ho fixture and I love it.

Does anyone have lighting for a four foot long tank? I just figured I would see if anyone on here wants to sell lighting before I go buy it from a store.

Glad you like your new lights pat. I got this "upgrade" with metal halides which was an extra 500 bucks and so far I'm wishing I had my T5HO's back.. Hope all is well and I look forward to some pictures when you get your livestock going!

Yea thanks again its great. I'm now working on my water chemistry my tank still isn't cycled all the way so i'm searching for anything to help speed my process up some. I also noticed a couple pieces of my live rock turning an orangish color so Im trying to find info on that Im hoping that its a good thing. Ill get pics up once i get more figured out.
