My partner just noticed then in the tank tonight, and a preliminary search hasn't yielded much help. It is in my refugium (hence the Caulerpa). I know it's not an Aptasia, but not sure what it is. It has a short stalk (less than half an inch tall), and has maybe 6-8, thread like tentacles probably almost an inch long. Any ideas on if this is something to have in the tank or something that could cause a problem if it got into my main tank, please let me know. Have a good night (or day depending on when you read this).

Which area of the macro are you talking about?
I cant find what you are posting about, but a little direction will help for sure.

Oh, sorry. It's right there on the sand right next to the glass. It's kind of tannish in color. The odd angle was so that people could see the tentacles against the darker rocks behind it. I hope that helps.

Or the little critter to the left, slightly higher in the pic, not pictured?

You got it! It's in the pic you posted. I didn't mean to make it a where's Waldo scenario, but thanks for keeping with it and finding it. The really thin lines coming from it in the pic you put up are how thin the tendrils are.

Possibly a spaghetti worm...
or maybe a hydroid of some type.

I will have to look those up and make sure if they're good to have or not. Thanks for the help. And of course, any other ideas from anybody else are welcome as well.

Has it moved at all? Or is it still in the same spot?

Other than the tentacles swaying, I haven't seen it move, though I've only seen it for about 3 days or so.

If it looks like this, it is a type of burrowing sea anenome, called a Worm Anemone - Scolanthus callimorphus. You can see them most often in the evening. They usually are about 1" in length above the substrate and can be 2" or 3" below the substrate. I have many of them in my tank and they don't bother anything.

That's got to be what's in my tank. Those pictures look much better than mine! Sadly though, I couldn't find any sources saying if they were good or bad, but if you say they're no problem, than I'm sure they're not. So it's decided, it gets to stay! Thanks everybody for your help.
