When should you replenish your pellet reactor?

I've been running pellets for almost 1 year. The pellets now are much smaller in size when compared to the new ones because they have consumed bacteria and done their job.

The level of pellets in the reactor is definitely a "bit" lower but nothing like if they are running out. They are about half used in a sense.

When is it the right time to add more?

Happy Holidays !!

I add new when they are so small that they float up and clog up the screen.

Sorry to hijack, Alex...

Do you replace them when they're floaters, or add to em?

Thanks,
tom

Yes and no. I change them if they dump out when I clean the reactor. I swirl them around and pour out the dirty water. If they dump out they are history.

Gotcha, thanks much.
