question about the mandarin goby. I just bought one for my 90 gallon tank from my LFS. I'm a little nervous that it won't get enough food after reading some stuff online. He is adjusting well to the tank swimming around and appears to be eating...at least I see him sucking up stuff but not sure if he's getting any food. Is there any way to tell if he's getting enough food or not?
Thanks everyone,
Joel

He is eating copepods. He should be fine if you have a established tank and plenty of live rock. If he gets a shrunk in stomach he is not getting enough to eat. And then you may need to add in some love copepods at nite with the lights off.

Yea i agree if you have lots of LR he should be fine. Ive had one for probably over a year in a tank with no fuge and ive never added any sort of live copepods to the tank.
Goodluck!

Great. Thanks guys. Gives me a little more peace of mind. I've got around 100lbs of live rock in the tank. And I always see little critters scurrying around at night.

Yup you should be fine! I have had mine for at least 6 months now, and he is fat and happy in my 50 gal!

so my mandarin is doing great! but I wanted to add something on here. I feed my fish the green stuff that the guys at Trop make, and yesterday I saw him eating it! I thought these fish were very picky? I didn't believe it at first but she it was swimming after the food and actually eating it. Has any one ever seen this or heard of this? Just curious.
