I ordered the wrong alk addition (Bicarbonate) from brs to the tune of 5gallons. I needed the Soda Ash because my ph is always low and the Soda Ash raises it and the Bicarbonate lowers it.

Q: Can I just put it in the oven according to Randy's instructions (two part) to make it soda ash or is the BRS Bicarbonate something special that won't allow me to do that? Or do I need to order another 5gallons of Soda Ash?

Plus, will it be the same recipe as before or will it be more concentrated per ml?

Thanks,
Tom

Put about 2 1/4 cups of the baking soda spread out on a baking tray. Cook @ 300 degrees for an hour. Dissolve in 1 gallon of RODI water and bottle for use.

I didn't ask. Plus I already opened it and used some. I figure if it was just good baking soda I could cook it to make it the ash. I know I'm going to get about half the mix, but I'm o.k. with that.
