Need a clean up crew recharge - snails, crabs, pods, worms, etc. What are your prefer vendors for buying stuff, either local (SE Michigan) or online? Some I've looked are Reefs2go, Reefcleaners, LiveAquaria, PremiumAquatics, Inland Aquatics (not purchased from them in a years).

Thoughts or comments?

reefcleaners.org seems to be the best and preferred

I've had good luck with reefcleaners ususally get more than you order. My last order was from Reefs2go, I did have a few DOA but they gave me a nice credit.

For online, Reefs2go is a sponsor. They seem to be getting good reviews.

Do you know if Trop has trochus snails?

I am going to need a clean up crew in the next month or so. Maybe we could do a group buy through Reefs2go?

Already ordered from Reefcleaners. The threshold for free shipping is very low if you get a quick crew order. Plus, they sell trochus which IMO are the king of all snails.

i did a test order through reefcleaners.org and i personally was not impressed by the size. Nassarius were smaller than a pea.

Hmm. I hope I have a better experience. Who else have you ordered cleaners from where you were happy?

I agree trochus are the best. Astrea are fine but theyre dead if they fall on their shell.

As to size I think your better off buying snails, shrimp, and fish on the small side. It means you probably don't have any old men in the bunch. Everything dies and the bigger that stuff is the older it is, old stuff (like fish, snails, people and dogs) tend to die more often than young stuff. Which sucks because I am starting to get old, hmm.

Keep in mind too that there are a couple types of Nassarious snails. The big tongas, almost as big as a turbo and the smaller ones, about the size of marble at biggest.

I ordered regular nassarius and tongans. Only a few tongans mostly because.l they are sweet to watch. Also nerites and two sizes of ceriths.
