Probably not a big deal but does anyone have any opinions about overflow position in the tank. I have a 75E that I am setting up as a reef tank. I need to mount a hang on overflow. I would like to hang it on the left side of the tank because it's easier to plumb everything and hide it at that end. Any issues in terms of flow from the other end of the tank? It seems like it should be centered so that it draws from both ends. Any opinions?

I would keep it in the center also. I really dont think it matters where you put it. but your idea sounds good

My overflow on my 75 is on the left side but toward center. With really good flow in the tank I can't imagine it would matter much. I think the idea of the having the return on the opposite is probably a good one just for circulation.

With a HOB overflow,i dont think its that big of a deal where its located.I've used them on the side as well as in the back of a tank.It didn't seem to make much of a difference
where it was located. If you notice a surface film building up on the opposite side of the overflow, then re-direct the current to address the problem.
