I've been Bristle worm hunting since 7pm, it is now 9:50pm. So far I've removed 30 (yes I counted) bristle worms.

Using a knee high nylon stocking. I cut the ends off the stocking, put a gulf ball size piece of LR and some freeze dried off brand shrimp into the sock. Tied loose knots in the ends. Added to my tank is a easy accessible, dark area.
After removing it for the 3rd time I discovered one most important thing about using this method to catching them lil buggers. The nylon *must* have twists in it, or the worms just crawl on top of it. It is only when the worm enters a twisted part of the nylon that it cannot remove itself.

Most of the worms removed were 2" and under. I will be working on catching the bigger ones :)

Hahaha... I could remove 100 and it won't even put a dent in the population. These guys are bold as ****! Way to many of em. So much so that daytime feeding is like a bristle worm expo!! The majority of them are 2+" I'm just cutting em down a little. True meaning of having to much of a good thing :)

That's a neat way to get em under control Miz. Better be careful of the dnr tho! You got tags for them?:oldman:

Well after the 32 (yup I counted again) I pulled out this a.m. I think I reached my bag limit-again though most under 1" Guess the big ones aren't so dumb :)

Here's a pic of the ones I didn't get with the lights on to boot!!

I know right!! That happens EVERY time I feed the fish...it bothers me most because of Dilly. Any food that drops to the bottom, he doesn't stand a chance in **** of getting to it before it's covered with worms. I just gotta figure out how to get the bigger ones using this same method.

might be too much food getting to the bottom and allowing your worm population to flourish...

Ya think?!! LOL actually they're pretty PO'd as I've stopped feeding the entire tank and have taken to target feeding. Because of my Mandarin :) So now any food stuff they smell, they're on it! I'll keep hunting til I'm comfortable with the population again ;)
