I'm always seeing pods on the glass. But I don't see em on the rock. The substrate I understand as it's white. But why can't I see em on the rock? Why are they always on the glass. Also, will it hurt em if I blow them off the glass? I thought by having cheato in the tank, they would live in it? :hypnotized:

Look at night with a strong flashlight. They are often seen in between the rocks where they are protected and there is little current.

Evolution. Natural selection favored the ones that blend in with their substrate (sand, rock, ect.). The ones that didn't blend in became food (and therefore didn't pass on their genes).

I have noticed this also. Heres my theory. 1. They are small and your rock is farther from your eye than your glass. W. When on the glass they are back lit by the lights, whereas on the rocks light only hits the top of them.

Bottom line is pods on the glass means you have a population and they are doing fine.
