Wow free to attend an actual organized and well planned swap..... NIIIIIIIIIIIICE!

My original thought was to have a throw back swap to the old days when we used to do this in back yards.

Of course, back yards are much more difficult now that nearly everyone wants to set up a tank with lighting, etc. Also having it indoors is nice in the rare chance we do get rain, or if it is blistering hot (likely), we will have a nice air-conditioned facility to hang out in. I've kept the table cost as low as possible to cover the facility.

Note the table spaces are limited so don't wait to reserve one if you are planning to sell.

if you do a presale and items sell on here, then you could just meet the person at your car and do the exchange there. also,

this swap sounds like a great idea and a last chance possibility at my last swap for quite a while although i may be going over to ludington for a few days and im not sure if the swap is in the timeframe but i hope its not.

A couple people have asked some questions about the swap so I thought I would post this to help clarify:

You are not required to purchase a table to sell/trade frags. There will be no frag limit as to the number you can bring in as an attendee. There will not be a table available to "set up" but if you are only bringing a few frags it should be easy enough to show folks what you have. There is a large area outside with picnic tables next to the entrance...you are welcome to use that area (free). However, please use caution with regard to temperature of your animals since this area is outside and could get warm in August. If you do use that area, please be sure to pick up after yourself.

You do not need to be a business to get a table. There are both businesses and hobbyists that have reserved tables. With that said, there are only a couple inside tables still unspoken for.

In addition to selling the last table, we have also added a table for our friends at MichiganReefers.com. gablett and possibly other MR staff will be on hand to talk reefs and possibly have a few giveaways/drawings.

This is shaping up to be a great kick off to the Reefing Season!

I'm super excited for this swap. I have a babysitter, and the CFO is out of town! She may question why the tank looks different.....but....I'm ok with that.....until the credit card bill comes in, LOL!

Thanks for all the hard work Jim and Andy!

Instead of running a raffle we are going to have some nice door prizes. I feel this keeps the spirt of what we are trying to do here with a retro summer swap...after all "back in the day", we never had big raffles at swaps. I believe the raffles should be left to reef clubs to run as fundraisers.

HOW TO ENTER
The drawing will be free to enter for all who attend. Each person will be given one entry into the drawing at the swap. You can only enter once (well twice), so don't add multiples and get disqualified.

Which brings me to the increasing your chances to win. In addition to the entry you will receive at the swap, if you visit Reef Paradise, you will receive a second entry into the drawing. Maps will be available at the swap with directions to the shop. There will be another entry box at the shop so you will not need to come back to the swap and the best part is you do not need to be present to win.

THE PRIZES

The grand prize is this bleeding apple scoly donated by Reef Paradise. As you probably know, they typically retail for over $200:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d16/schminksbro/bleeding-apple-1.jpg

There will also be 4 winners of $25 gift certificates to Reef Paradise.

HOW TO FIND OUT IF YOU ARE A WINNER
We will announce the winner of the drawing on Sunday night at 9pm here on CR in Reef Paradise's forum (http://www.captivereefs.com/forum/reef-paradise/). The winner should post to claim their prize. The scoly will will be held at Reef Paradise and arrangements should be made with Reef Paradise to pick it up within the next 10 days. The gift certificates will be valid for 6 months and will be mailed to the winners.

Directions from the Swap (A) to Reef Paradise (B):

3317 E Bristol Rd, Burton, MI 48529 to 2902 Richfield Rd, Flint, MI 48506 - Google Maps

One of the frags in the upper right hand corner of this photo:

The raffle prizes will be on display at Reef Paradise rather than at the swap. Logistically it made more sense for us to set it up that way.

Anybody interested in a Kessil A150W LED Light?

They are some of the best LED Lights out there.

I have one of each and a Gooseneck for each.

10K Sky Blue
15K Ocean Blue
20K Deep Ocean Blue

They retail for 300 each online (265 for the Light and 35 for the Gooseneck) and are more expensive in stores.

They are only a couple months old.

So what did everyone get at the swap? Lets see some pics!

Here is one of my favorites...a tri-color hairy mushroom..blue tips, brown polyps some green polyps, and a bright green base. I pick it up from Reef Paradise...I can't believe no one else bought it before I got there since I was their last customer of the day:

http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k621/jimsflies/hairy-shroom.jpg

Also the bright green shroom on the right behind it was another swap purchase from @aznnutty.

Also a big thanks to BooyahsReef for the sweet black ice and snowflake clownfish:
